cfiFOAM Offers Training for its Injection Foam Rigs
cfiFOAM builds and sells injection foam rigs. Unlike spray polyurethane foam equipment that is typically costly and operates at high pressures and temperatures, water-based injection foam equipment is relatively simple, less expensive, and easy to use. Nevertheless, the equipment is specialized in that proper metering and mixing equipment are required to blend the resin and catalyst, while high-quality diaphragm pumps are commonly used for metering to the foam gun. Spray polyurethane foam proportioners are not normally used for injection foams due to incompatibility of the raw materials.
Unlike some other injection foam suppliers, cfiFOAM does not require new customers to purchase a territory or franchise. As such, the entry costs are fairly low and the need for new installers is high. We are always interested in setting up new installers. All that is necessary to become certified is to possess the proper equipment and undergo training. To make it easy, cfiFOAM’s products are compatible with other brands of injection foam equipment.
Training is a key element of any foam insulation system. cfiFOAM typically trains customers at its facility in Knoxville, TN using primarily hands-on sessions to make certain each customer is comfortable with the equipment and installation technique. This is often followed by additional training in the field and can even include sessions on reading blueprints, commercial submittals and architectural presentations.
PRODUCTS
cfiFOAM first entered the market in 2002 with its Core Foam Masonry Foam Insulation® product, quickly setting a new standard for quality and productivity in the masonry foam insulation segment. Many customers who routinely insulate concrete block buildings switched to cfiFOAM because of equipment innovations such as digital flow meters and high productivity foam guns, while others liked the ultra low VOC levels found in cfiFOAM’s resin. Other customers prefer Core Foam Masonry Foam Insulation because of its long shelf-life and ease of installation.
This product was followed by InsulSmart Interior Foam Insulation®, a water-based injection foam targeted specifically for the retrofit market. Through its R&D efforts, cfiFOAM optimized the InsulSmart chemistry to obtain higher density foam with more rigidity, which greatly reduces the shrinkage common to water-based injection foams. This product is sold both directly and through distribution channels to the fast-growing retrofit market. By virtue of its renewable resource content, many folks consider InsulSmart to be a “green” product.
A third product, Tank Foam for UST AbatementTM, was developed for in-place decommissioning of underground storage tanks. Using a high-volume tank gun, a 10,000-gallon storage tank can easily be filled with Tank Foam in just a few hours.
In addition to cfiFOAM’s current product offering:
- Core Foam Masonry Foam Insulation
- InsulSmart Interior Foam Insulation
- Tank Foam for UST Abatement,
a number of new products are in the works in response to specific market needs.
