| Comments | Previous owner extended conditioned space into garage/three season room, configured as vaulted ceiling, and insulated with 3.5" thick faced batt fiberglass ( R-11 or 13 ). In some areas of the space, insulation was never installed between vertical studs on encompassing walls. I want to remove the batt and replace with closed cell foam on the ceiling, and in parts of the walls, to close the building envelope for heating this winter. The room is under the corner for a Hip roof, w/ 2x6 common rafters and a 2x8 under the ridge line. The floor is ~ 12x12 ( 144 sq ft ) , and the rise on the ceiling is 5-6', so the ceiling is ~ 165-180 sq ft, or ~ 1k board ft. I figure another 3-400 board ft. to fix/fill in other areas where wall insulation is missing or hard to properly insulate ( must see job ). Would like to have someone come look at it and provide an estimate for completion A.S.A.P. |
