Watch Spray Foam Insulation on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
Arlington, TX — SEALECTION® 500 spray foam insulation by DEMILEC (USA) LLC® will be featured on an upcoming episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” as the insulation used to rebuild a family’s home infested with mold and termites. DEMILEC (USA) partnered with its local Authorized Contractor Superior Protective Coatings and the builder John Wesley Miller Companies on the project.
DEMILEC (USA)’s SEALECTION® 500 spray foam insulation will be featured as the insulation-of-choice for the roof deck on an upcoming episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” set to air on March 22nd on the ABC network. Restoration on the home was completed during the week of January 27- February 4, 2008.
The home belongs to the Bell Family of Tucson, Arizona. Lizzie Bell was born with a rare blood condition, Diamond-Blackfan Anemia, which is characterized by a failure of the bone marrow to produce red blood cells. Less than 700 kids in the world are stricken with this disease. Lizzie and her family established the John P. Bell Foundation and for the past ten years have been working to raise awareness about the ongoing need for blood donations. Lizzie was given the Red Cross Hero Award for her ambassadorship in telling others about blood drives and donating blood.
While she’s been busy helping others, the Bell’s own home had been neglected due to the high costs of her medical bills. The home was sinking with gaping cracks in their cement floor, suffered mold and termite problems and was in need of other repairs. On January 27, 2009, Lizzie Bell and her family were surprised by Ty Pennington to hear the news that they were selected to receive the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” house.
“We were proud to be part of this project because it gave us a chance to help a family in our local community that has helped so many others,” said Randy Costilow, Owner of Superior Protective Coatings. “John Wesley Miller Companies builds their homes to a standard of excellence and durability that calls for only the highest grade service and products. They invited us to join them because they feel that our spray foam insulation ranks among the best in the industry.”
SEALECTION® 500 is a semi-rigid spray foam insulation that is noted for its energy-efficiency, financial savings and ability to create a clean, comfortable and quiet in-home environment. SEALECTION® 500 creates an airtight seal in building walls and attics by expanding to up to 120 times its liquid volume. The expansion fills cracks, gaps and hollow spaces to prevent moisture, dust, allergens, pollens and noise from traveling between rooms.
“The airtight seals that our insulations create around and throughout the buildings make them perfect for severe weather conditions like those in Arizona,” said Dave Lall, General Manager of DEMILEC (USA) LLC®. “Plus, the Bell family will be able to count on lower utility bills because our insulation is extremely energy-efficient. In effect, our products will serve them in the short term as part of the effort to get them back on their feet, and in the long term by making their homes less expensive to heat and cool, and by creating a healthier, cleaner environment.”
