VersaFlex Inc. Announces Polyurea Training Programs for Fall 2013
HOUSTON, TX – August 23, 2013 – VersaFlex Inc.'s 2013 Polyurea Training Schools return for the Fall 2013 session. The programs offered will provide attendees with degrees for Basic Materials/ Qualified Polyurea Applicator and Qualified Polyurea Professional. The programs' courses will be held at VersaFlex's facility in Houston, Texas and are taught by Dudley J. Primeaux II - PCS, CCI. Dudley is VersaFlex's Director of Education and Development.
The courses of the Basic Materials/Qualified Polyurea Applicator program are scheduled for October 21-25. The courses covered in this program will be on polyurea products, fundamentals of polyurea, and spray applicator training.
VersaFlex Polyurea Products
Aromatic products, Aliphatic products, Special products - flame retardant, high abrasion, skid resistant, high chemical resistant. Aspartic products, Low pressure spray products, fillers and sealants.
The Fundamentals of Polyurea Technology
The course will provide an overview of polyurea both from the standpoint of its chemistry and application technology, as well as its potential uses. The course is designed as a prerequisite lead-in to our in-depth Level 2: Spray Applicator Training.
Spray Applicator Training
General introduction of polyurea technologies, spray equipment options, surface prep, field testing, and case studies. Hands on spray demonstrations. Personnel safety. For those entering polyurea spray business or new employees. The course gives a more in-depth overview of polyurea issues on a variety of topics ranging from equipment to troubleshooting, repair to maintenance, substrate preparation to priming, and many others.
The Qualified Polyurea Professional will be offered twice during the Fall session: the first session is scheduled for September 23-27 and the second session for November 18-22. Like the Qualified Polyurea Applicator program, the Qualified Polyurea Professional program will also feature a course on VersaFlex's polyurea products. The additional courses for the Qualified Polyurea Professional program will be training on: surface prep, specifications, certifications, and preparation, and advanced spray applications.
Surface Prep
How to properly prepare concrete, steel surfaces for application of polyurea. Failure analysis, basics of concrete and steel, surface preparations, application conditions. Equipment and industry standards.
Specifications, Certifications, & Preparation
How to write proper specifications, how to read and work from prepared specifications. Can you do this project profitably in time and meet the specs. Working around other trades, and scheduling conflicting activities at the site. On site training requirements, acceptable presentation of the site and turn over when completed.
Advanced Spray Applications
Optimize your knowledge of the proportioner, focus on repair and maintenance of the spray equipment. Hose heat trouble shooting. Hands on repair and breakdown of proportioner and spray guns.
The classes also include printed training materials, plus a light breakfast and lunch daily. As always, a dress code of long pants and close-toed shoes applies. Class sizes are limited to 15 participants, so don't hesitate to register.
