Builder confidence in the market for newly-built single-family homes rose according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI).
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Commerce Department released data stating gains in multifamily production pushed overall housing starts up 1.9 percent in March.
The National Association of Home Builders' (NAHB) Building Systems Councils (BSC) and the Log and Timber Homes Council bestowed 28 awards to systems-built industry manufacturers and home builders during its annual Building Systems Housing Summit.
According to data by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau, sales of newly built, single-family homes in September rose to a seasonally adjusted annual rate.

According to the released data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Commerce Department, Nationwide housing starts rose 8.3 percent in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.22 million units.
This is the highest reading since February. Multifamily housing was up 5 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 441,000 units in July while single-family production edged up 0.5 percent to 770,000 units.
The index’s nationwide score ticked up to .95, meaning that based on current permit, price and employment data, the nationwide average is running at 95 percent of normal economic and housing activity.
