SWD Urethane Announces SPF Roofing Certification Training
MESA, AZ–March 28, 2013–As part of the SPFA Professional Certification program , SWD is proud to offer trainings and prep seminars for contractors and installers.
The training is designed to offer hands-on training, including spray technique, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. At the end of each day, students will have the opportunity to take the test for the SPFA certification covered that day.
The prerequisite for any SPFA Certification is the CPI Health and Safety Certification, which can be completed online at www.spraypolyurethane.org. SWD asks all attendees take this training, pass the test, and have a current certification number prior to coming to class.
SPF Assistant – April 24, 2013
This certification is designed for individuals involved in the assistance of the installation of SPF. SPF Assistant's duties may include assisting in equipment and job set-up, substrate preparation, material handling and staging, moving of hoses/scaffolding/ladders, masking, trimming, clean-up and other non-spraying tasks. This program has a heavy emphasis on health and safety and job site safety.
SPF Installer (Apprentice Level) – April 25, 2013
This certification is designed for individuals with limited experience in the installation of spray polyurethane foam (SPF). The SPF Installer's duties may include spraying SPF in different applications as well as equipment set-up/start-up/shutdown. This program will provide an overview of: pre-job planning; job site set-up procedures; substrate preparation; start-up procedures; installation methods; and shutdown procedures.
SPF Master Installer (Advanced Level) – April 26, 2013:
This certification is specifically designed for individuals that have extensive experience spraying SPF in various applications, and have demonstrated competence in SPF applications through a field examination. The SPF Master Installer's duties may include all aspects of the installation of SPF, as well as equipment function/maintenance/repair, an understanding of other systems, and the proper installation of protective coatings.
Each day of the listed training sessions also includes material training and field training appropriate to the level being taught. All participants will receive an overview of SWD's roofing products. Participants will review proper start-up and shutdown procedures for typical proportioners and key maintenance procedures. The class will then learn how to rebuild air purge guns and how to apply closed-cell SPF on roofs.
The certification session will be held in Mesa Arizona from April 24-26, 2013. Cost is $700 per participant per day which includes training, lunches and group dinner. Travel and lodging additional, as are any SPFA program and examination fees. (Currently those fees are: a $250 SPFA fee, an initial exam fee of $200, and a fee of $100 for any subsequent exams.) Group rate lodging is available and will be provided post-registration. Payment in full is due at registration. Class size is limited. If you enroll in slab jacking certification I and also enroll in any of the SPFA roofing certification classes on April 24-26, SWD will deduct $200 from your total training bill.
Registrants will be notified promptly of any cancellations or program changes. If a program is cancelled or postponed, registration fees will be refunded; SWD is not responsible for any other related costs, charges, or expenses. If an individual wishes to cancel their registration they can do so with no penalty up to seven days prior to the start of the training. After seven days prior to an event, the individual will be refunded 50 percent of their registration. No-shows will not be refunded.
