SprayFoam.com Catches Up With Touch ‘n Seal

ST. LOUIS, MO - February 8, 2012 - While cruising the expo hall at the SPFA Convention last week, SprayFoam.com stopped by the Touch ‘n Seal booth and briefly caught up with Michael Sites, Marketing Manager for Convenience Products.

Sites is a regular at the annual gathering of the spray foam industry “who’s who”, and he noted that this year boasted a swell in attendees.

“I’ve seen much more traffic than there has been over the years,” said Sites. “I think that the industry has been doing a tremendous job of promoting the benefits of polyurethane. A lot of people in the insulation industry have caught on, and are beginning to carry foam, which leads them here.”

It is true that, despite economic woes, the spray foam market has continued to develop. On the last day of the conference, PU Magazine delivered a 2011 spray foam market review indicating the industry’s steady growth.

As for the Touch ‘n Seal expo booth, Sites and other representatives showcased several new products: a zero-VOC, aerosol-based Poly-Clean Polyurethane Foam Cleaner; the Touch ‘n Seal Ignition Barrier Coating; and the Storm Bond Roof Tile Adhesive. Sites noted that the Roof Tile Adhesive, which is used to adhere clay and concrete roof tiles to decks of drywood or other underlayment material, complies with the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code.

“It has been tested and meets hurricane code requirements, which is exciting for us,” he said.

When not talking shop, Sites said his favorite part of the convention is the breakout sessions, particularly one given by the Center for the Polyurethane’s Industry (CPI).

“CPI presented updates in recent chemical research, and how these evaluations and recommendations relate to the spray foam industry,” he said. “As manufacturers, we’re very safety-conscious, and keeping informed on these topics is crucial for the industry.”
