Sprayfoam Educational Institute Provides SPFA Roof Inspector Courses
Sprayfoam Educational Institute in cooperation with the Arizona Roofing Contractors Association and the Phoenix chapter of Roof Consultants Institute provided SPFA Accreditation courses to more than 20 persons on inspecting SPF roofing systems.
Well known roofing expert, Robb Smith (RCC, RRO) taught R-I; Fundamentals of Roofing and SPF specialist, Mason Knowles taught the SPFA courses; 101 –I; Fundamentals of SPF Roofing for the Independent Inspector. 101-I and R-I; are the 2 required Accreditation Classes offered by the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) to become a SPFA Accredited Roof Inspector. Once the classes have been successfully completed and work history evaluated by the Accreditation Committee, the attendee can become Fully Accredited by the SPFA to become a SPFA Accredited Roof Inspector.
8 inspectors from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors Department attended course 101 I courtesy of sponsorship provided by: DAS Products, BASF, Lapolla, KM Coatings, Bay Systems North America and United Coatings.
Jerry Brown a local roof consultant with WRECORP was instrumental in developing the educational program and with the aid of David Spice coordinated the sponsorship of the Registrar of Contractor instructors.
Most of the attendees were from Phoenix; however some participants came from as far away as California, Idaho and Minnesota. As Micha Smith of National Coatings reported, “Once my boss, Matt Kolb, found out Mason Knowles and Robb Smith were teaching the course, it was mandatory that we attend”.
