Lapolla Industries Announces Spray Foam System with Recycled Content
ORLANDO, FL – January 15, 2010 – Lapolla Industries maked another exciting announcement about their spray foam insulation at the 2011 International Builder’s Show (IBS) last week. Lapolla is using recycled content from plastic bottles in the formulation of their FOAM-LOK™2000 Closed-Cell Spray Foam.
In an interview with Lapolla president and chief executive officer Douglas Kramer, he told us “that over 2,500 plastic bottles are recycled to make an ingredient which is added to the formulation for every 55-gallon drum set of their FL 2000 closed cell foam insulation.” With all the spray foam supplied by Lapolla, that’s a lot of post consumer recycled plastic bottles eliminated from landfills garbage dumps.
Just a few weeks ago, Lapolla also announced their strategic alliance with EnergyWise Structures. EnergyWise is one of the nation’s leading thermal engineering firms and the only engineering solutions company confident enough to give an energy usage guarantee for energy savings up to 70%. EnergyWise uses their proprietary software to build a detailed energy analysis based on each customer's building plans, from which they accurately project heating and cooling costs. From this analysis EnergyWise is able to customize a new building plan that includes Lapolla Spray Foam Insulation, caulking, and optimal heating and cooling system sizing, to maximize energy savings.
Spray foam insulation represents one of the best ways to create an airtight envelope that seals heat within a structure. Because it expands to fill the available structural space, it's ideal for both large and small installations, as well as retrofits of antique and idiosyncratic buildings.
Lapolla reminds us that an environmentally friendly home is a great benefit for you, your family and the environment. Take an active role in helping reduce greenhouse gasses, thus slowing the effects of global warming. By properly sealing your home, you are reducing the amount of fossil fuels that are needed to produce electricity and therefore also reducing the carbon emitted into the environment.
With the use of recycled content in their FL 2000 foam system and combined with EnergyWise's proprietary software, Lapolla spray foam should prove to be a valuable asset for consumers, engineers and architects who want to work with a high performance company actively engaged in a green environmentally friendly culture.
