AWS New Product Announcement Coincides With 2013 Dealer Conference

MOBILE, AL – January 9, 2013 – American WeatherStar (AWS), a national supplier of roof coatings, wall coatings, spray foam insulation, and single-ply roofing system materials, is announcing three new metal roofing systems to coincide with its 2013 Dealer Conference.

The first of the three systems being introduced is called Met-A-Gard, which is designed using Acrylic 211 elastomeric liquid applied roofing formula and is useful for most metal building applications. It comes standard with a 10-year material warranty and system warranties are available when installed by an AWS approved dealer.

Met-A-Gard+, a step up from Met-A-Gard, utilizes an enhanced, technologically advanced, high-solids, acrylic elastomeric liquid applied roofing membrane. AWS Acrylic 211 HT is at the heart of this system and it has high tensile strength, superior elongation, and excellent color retention. These properties are what allow AWS to offer a standard 10-year material warranty along with 12 and 15-year system warranties when installed by an AWS approved dealer.

Finally, Met-A-Sil is a silicone based metal roofing system designed around AWS's Silicone 410. Silicone 410 is a ready-to-use, high-solids, single-component, solvent-borne, moisture-cure fluid-applied silicone membrane. Utilizing AWS Urethane 522, a moisture-cured urethane caulking mastic to seal seams, penetrations, and fasteners makes this the most durable system on the market for metal roofs, according to AWS. Met-A-Sil comes with a standard 10-year material warranty. Twelve and 15-year system warranties are also available when installed by AWS approved dealers.

Coinciding with the introduction of these products, AWS will also be hosting its 2013 Dealer Conference called "Building Your Road Map For Success." The conference is scheduled to take place January 16th through the 18th at the Beau Rivage Casino & Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. A golf outing is also scheduled to take place prior to the conference at the Preserve Golf Club on January 15th.

"Several of our dealers have signed up to play in our first golf tournament," said AWS Sales & Marketing Manager Scott Gayle. "This should be great fun for all." A reception will also be held Wednesday night, January 16th, to give AWS dealers a chance to network with one another.

Although In the past, AWS conferences have focused on product presentations, benefits of AWS products, hands on classes for applying spray foam and coatings as well as TPO membrane installation, the focus this year will be on sales.

"This year, we want to help them sell," Gayle said. "We want our dealers to receive some of the best sales force design and best practices available."

AWS has invited Gil Cargill of Cargill Consulting Group to be a presenter for the opening day of the seminar. Jim McDermott of GAF and Tom Shackelford of AWS will be giving industry specific presentations. McDermott will discuss best practices on single ply including sales, competition, maintenance agreements, and warranties. Shackelford will discuss sales, proposals, and presentations to the building owner. AWS Owner Brian O'Donnell will then wrap-up the conference with his presentation about "Bringing It All Together."

According to O'Donnell, this year's conference is a great opportunity to learn about the right way to market and sell for success and to meet and spend time with business owners from across the country.
