Alabama Spray Foam Contractor Assists Warehouse Owner With Roofing Problem

ROME, GA – August 10, 2011 – While recently attempting to fix their 60,000 square foot, aging roof, the owners of a local Georgia warehouse ran into several unforeseen problems just 5,000 square feet into the job. To respond to the problems, the owners called Jason Forrester and his six-man team at Finishing Solutions to assist.

“The owner attempted to apply foam insulation himself,” said Forrester. “He contacted us when he was facing a number of issues.”

Upon arriving at the scene, Forrester discovered that he and his team would have to scarify the 5,000 square feet of roofing that was already worked on and applied. According to Forrester, the roof did not have any maintenance  for about 20 years. Nonetheless, the Alabama Spray Foam team set up their equipment and began work.

“We removed what was left of the existing roof and applied 1/2 inch dens deck,” said Forrester. “We then sprayed 1½ inches of 2.8lb foam and applied CFS 2500 Series High Solid Silicone roof coating using Graco 8333 and 5030 sprayers.”

Although fixing the roof was a challenge itself, the crew also had to battle the relentless Georgia weather. With an estimated heat index of more than 100 degrees during the day and late afternoon thunderstorms, Forrester and his crew were forced to work mostly in the morning.

“The weather was brutal,” said Forrester. “We worked on that roof for nine days; eight of those days we were working in the 100 degree heat.”

Battling the elements, the Finishing Solutions crew successfully completed the job with positive results from the owner.

“The customer is now leak free and has a roof that will have great longevity,” concluded Forrester.
