2009 Northeast Spray Foam Conference is a Huge Success
Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, NH - From Wednesday May 6th to Saturday May 9th, spray foam industry professionals gathered for the Second Annual 2009 Northeast Spray Foam Conference at the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, NH. The event drew approximately 40 attendees, traveling from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania and even Barbados for four days of informative presentations, hands on training and SPFA Accreditation.
Three of the class offerings were the first in a series of seven Accreditation Classes offered by the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA). Once all seven classes have been successfully completed, the attendee will be Fully Accredited by the SPFA. Those included at this particular event were “SPFA 101 - Fundamentals of Spray Foam”, “SPFA 101BE - Building Envelope” and “SPFA 101R - Fundamentals of Spray Polyurethane Foam and Covering Systems”, all instructed by “Spray Foam Consultant” Mason Knowles. Over the course of the event, 68 certifications were completed: 18 for SPFA 101, 21 for SPFA 101BE and 29 for SPFA 101R.
In addition to these accreditation courses, other presentations included an infrared camera seminar by Fluke and AC Tools, an informative session on air exchangers by Rich Bialobrzewski of Renewaire, a presentation on sales and marketing by Doug Commette of SprayFoam.com and a closing discussion led by George Spanos of Sprayfoam Distributors of New England and organizer of the event.

Spanos thanks “Kevin Arsenault from Graco for being on hand for the entire show and for donating a Fusion CS gun to be given away” as well as “Mason Knowles for doing a fantastic job teaching and listening.” Also, he extends “A special thanks to Sprayfoam.com's Doug Commette for a fantastic sales presentation.” According to Spanos, “The attendees were amazed at his knowledge of marketing and commented on the fact that he did not try to endorse SprayFoam.com, but rather tried to educate the contractors on how to promote their businesses more effectively by using all of the free services available on the internet.” Additionally, “A hearty congratulations to Lee Whisnant from New England Energy Technologies for winning the CS gun and to Shawn Sewall for getting a perfect score on all three SPFA accreditation courses!”
Overall, the 2009 Northeast Spray Foam Conference was a success and attendees were able to benefit from a wealth of valuable knowledge shared by the top experts in the industry. All of us that attended can't wait for next year.
