South Dakota – June 2009 – Urethane Soy Systems of Volga, South Dakota announces the approval of ESR 2917 from the International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) for their SoyTherm™ 50 Spray Foam Insulation!
The ICC-ES has accepted testing submitted to show that Urethane Soy System’s SoyTherm™ 50 meets all requirements of the ICC-ES to allow its use under both the International Residential Code (IRC) and the International Building Code (IBC) for use in attics and crawl spaces, including the unvented attic assembly.
According to the ICC website, “ICC-ES is the United States’ leader in evaluating building products for compliance with code. A nonprofit, public-benefit corporation, ICC-ES does technical evaluations of building products, components, methods, and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of reports on code compliance, which are made available free of charge to code officials, contractors, specifiers, architects, engineers, and anyone else with an interest in the building industry and construction. ICC-ES evaluation reports provide evidence that products and systems meet code requirements.”
“We are pleased that SoyTherm™ 50 has been recognized as one of few, and I believe the only Soy based low density spray foam that can be sprayed in the closed attic assembly uncovered,” said Mike Fusco, general manager of USSC. “We have worked very hard to bring to the industry the highest quality spray foam with the highest bio-content. The results of our D-6866 are listed on our data sheets, and as such provide independent affirmation of our Bio-content. We are very proud of those numbers, and now add this ESR report to a growing list of “firsts” accomplished by our team.”
Urethane Soy Systems manufactures soy based polyols for use in the urethane industry, and soy based systems with some of the highest bio based content available.
