Volatile Free, Inc. Introduces a Breakthrough Polyurea Hybrid White Aliphatic Coating
VFI-251 is resistant to chalking, cracking, embrittlement, and remains flexible at low temperatures.
Brookfield, WI - Volatile Free, Inc. (VFI) has developed VFI-251, a break-through polyurea hybrid coating. VFI-251 is a white, aliphatic batch mix elastomer that does not often need a primer and can be applied with a range of application techniques including conventional airless sprayers. It has extraordinary physical properties that exceed those of most polyureas. This unique, medium viscosity, polyurea hybrid elastomer coating handles as easily as single component products. It. has a long pot life, very rapid cure time, and a long second pass window. VFI-251 is resistant to chalking, cracking, embrittlement, and remains flexible at low temperatures. It has very low water permeability and good abrasion resistance. Both thick and thin film buildups are possible in a single-coat application, with excellent adhesion. VFI-251 is highly reflective, has long-term color stability and is available in flat or semi-gloss. Uses for VFI-251 include, but are not limited to; a UV stable, weather resistant finish coat over aromatic basecoats, a flat, multipurpose flexible finish paint, a primer-less single-system elastomer over existing roofing systems and a flexible in-mold coating. VFI-251 can be applied to metal, wood, concrete, spray polyurethane foam, single-ply roofing, built-up roofing and more.
