DC 315 Is Added to Multiple Johns Manville Foams

IRVINE, CA - November 11, 2011 - Johns Manville and International Fireproof Technology Inc. (IFTI) announced the addition of DC 315 to ICC ES report numbers ESR 3287 and ESR 3159 for use over JM Corbond MCSTM CC 2 lb. and JM ccSPFTM  CC 2lb foams.

The ICC ES reports recognize DC 315TM as an acceptable alternative to thermal barriers over either JM Corbond MCSTM CC 2 lb. and JM ccSPF  CC 2lb. Contractors and foam applicators now have increased flexibility and an economical option instead of using ½ inch gypsum board. Depending on thermal or ignition barrier application, using DC 315TM will be a cost-effective, code-compliant, one product solution, claims the manufacturer.

The JM Corbond MCSTM CC 2 lb., JM ccSPFTM  CC 2lb and DC 315 assemblies were tested to NFPA 286 to meet 2006 IBC Section 803.2.1, 2009 IBC Section 803.1.2, and Section 2603.9 Special Approval to be used in lieu of a thermal barrier over foam.

IFTI Executive Vice President Gary Wolfe said, “This is exciting news for both Johns Manville and IFTI. Both companies realize the importance of offering superior, low-cost fire protection over Johns Manville foam products”.

DC 315 is a one-coat, water-based latex paint that offers superior fire protection over foam.  IFTI has completed over 35 successful full-scale Intertek WH certified tests, making it the most tested and reputable solution in the market.
